Leighton-Linsade Carnival procession - Whats it all about?

The Carnival Procession plays a big part in the Carnival Day - if not the biggest. It gives the oppportunity for community groups, voluntary groups, charities, businesses and individuals to colourfully display their causes.

The Floats are judged by local people who make an influence to the town, usually the Mayor and other important people.

Collecting Money

One of the most beneficial parts of the Carnival Procession is the chance to raise funds through public collections. Volunteers will be walking along side the floats with buckets for collection. Even if you just have the odd two pence in your pocket. They go a very long way!

Floats and Stuff

A major attraction for the crowds who like to watch the Carnival Procession each year are the decorative floats and trucks.

Any truck (providing it doesn't infringe health and safety regulations) can be used as a float, and, because there are only a limited number of trucks available from our truck distributer, we would advise you either to book them early (from us)  or ask another local truck company to provide you with one in return for publicising their company name etc.
